I always thought this song was about being a junkie, though I vaugely remember hearing that they wrote it about a missing girl from their hometown, who later on was found dead.

all together this song is very powerful and full of emotion, I love the metaphors used in this song. When the men she is around flirt with her and try getting with her, he'll find out later if she's been faithful and wait until tomorrow if she'll still be with him.
